The 2020/21 season isn’t over yet, but Tottenham’s Son Heung Min and Harry Kane have just become the top goal-scoring partnership in the history of the English Premiere League. The milestone was reached in Spurs’s 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace yesterday, when Son assisted the final goal from Kane. Son scored his 100th goal for Spurs on 2 January this year, in their game against Leeds.
Perhaps now commentators could start pronouncing ‘Heung’ correctly. This tutorial from Talk To Me In Korean (link below) explains how to say the Korean vowel ‘ㅡ’ which is unhelpfully romanised as ‘eu’. It contains several examples of football commentators getting it wrong!
Sonny features in a recent video by the Premier League, which the Korean Embassy has reposted on their YouTube channel. As Ambassador Enna Park says: “He makes my job easier”.
